One cold winter night, the strong wind was knocking on my house, the snow was falling down into pieces, and my day’s work makes me so exhausted and makes me want to fall in sleep. At the middle of the night, someone was knocking on my front door, it wakes me up, I getting so angry and I swear I will use the baseball bat and smash on that person’s head. While I was going to open the door, everything around me is dead silent; everything seems darker than normal night. I was very curious about who is knocking at my door during the middle of the night, when I opened the door, my heart was shocked, and my heartbeat was going faster, my entire face was turning into red. “Hi Benson, long time no see”, said he. I asked myself “am I dreaming or sleep walking”? I shake my harden rock brain, “ I am not dreaming”! When I stared at my cousin, he rolled into the snow and drive in the wind in front of me. I shut the door and clam myself down, a shadow past behind me, a familiar shadow of the back of my wife. But as I go closer to shadow, my shadow cover it up, my wife’s shadow seems not excepting me to come closer, the only thing I can do now is go back into my bed, and storing energy for tomorrow’s interview. A new day has been born; I was going to get rid of that exhausting job. I need to interview a new job during my short lunchtime, I am old, and it is very hard to get a new job to finish my wish. The people are nice; they are very happy and relax. I was very nervous about the interview, my hands and feet are shaking, in other words, my whole body was shaking. How embarrassing is that, what a shame of me. The manager walk into the room, his eyes are shooting electricity of me, my whole body shake again. “ Let’s start the interview”, said he. “ Hello, nice to meet you”. “ Oh hi, it is my honor to meet you”. “Do you have any work experience”? “Yes I do, I am a very hard worker, I am not lazy, and I am nice”. “ Do you have kids, siblings, wife”? “ I do not have kids, but I have a wife, but she is already playing with the angels, and smiling in the sky. “ Oh, I’m so sorry, thanks for doing the interview, we will reply you at couple week, or a day”. I slowly walk out of the building and take a deep breath, “ I failed this interview for sure, and young people beats old man. Suddenly, the blood pressure in my head is increasing; I woke up. It is the middle of the night, I don’t know why I got a major headache and a weird dream, by the way, and someone was knocking on my door again! Is my door very popular for people to knock? It is not Halloween yet, if there are kids playing around with my door, I am going to use water gun to shoot them away, for sure! I walk down to the stairs, the squeaky sound of the stairs and movement of the spiders make the environment around me seem scary and lonely. The doorknob is colder than normal, the door lock is harder to turn, the door is harder to push, a man with a sad face is standing in front of my door. “Oh my gosh, aren’t you dead already”? Said I. “ I missed my entire life, I exchange my happiness with money, happiness have wings, like monies, you mush cut the both wings off, then it won’t fly away”, said my cousin. After he told me the words, his tears drop down on the floor and broken into pieces, and then he change to mist, and the wind blow him toward he road of heaven. I hurry make an appointment with voice messages to my family doctor, I wonder is my old brain still working at this moment. After I did a full body check, I was thinking the years of youth, and I should falling into the river of love if I am young again. My days from death is not far, I need to be young again, the fountain of youth can help me, but that still is a mystery in this days, no one know is the fountain of youth exist or not. The time is passing fast, soon the sky turned dark; the moonlight was reflecting my personality, I am so tire for the days of oldness, the only thing I can do is go back to my house, can get some sleep. I go back into my bed, and close my eyes. The sun is gone, it is not shining at me today, and a man was standing in a different place during the lonely night, that person is me. My life is like a cup of lemonade, sometime sweet sometime bitter, you never know what is going to be next, life is a mystery. Suddenly, a fountain is standing right in front of me.
As the steps from me get closer to the fountain, the fountain walk away with the same pace as me. I saw my cousin standing behind the fountain, it is so weird why I keep seeing him again and again, “is this my destiny”? This time he told me with smiles, “ fountain of youth is right in your heart, it is not in front of your eyes, try to use your inside to feel the exist of the fountain of youth”, said he. I close my eyes, following what he told me, but everything turns black after I close my eyes, until I heard a fresh, mild sound of running water, the fountain of youth appear in front of me. But this time, the fountain of youth didn’t walk away from me.
The water as pure as diamond in the moment I looking through it, and it also reflecting everything as the diamond did. I can saw what happen to the young people inside the water, the fountain is throwing a bunch of questions on me. I am trying to answer those questions, but- but I can't. My tears dropping into
the fountain, “ I know I will do the same thing as the people in the fountain did”.
We all need to leave this lovely world in some days, this is our human's destiny, or a cycle of life. I can barely drink the water from the fountain to gain the love from my other half, but what happen if my another half die faster than me? Everyone has a limit, either pass the limit or fail at the limit point, if my another half die faster than me, then I need to against the pain of losing my another half again and starting the same thing as I did in the past, I can't take this, I am too tired for my entire life, my life is done, the flower inside me is losing power, the sunshine isn't giving me enough for my flower to survive, everything is over, is over!
The fountain isn't pure after it give me a bunch of questions, the fountain is gone, it gone far away from me, because my blood polluted the pure water, my tiredness makes me want to sleep, my body was lying far from the fountain, a moment of eyes shut bring me to the place where my cousin and my wife live in, I know I left the lovely planet, I dancing with angels, my wife, and my cousin, I am happy, I can starting everything in here again, the things what I did in the past is cover by dust, no one will ever know. The fountain of youth give me a big lesson, a lesson can make me realize the meaning of happiness.
“Beep... Hi Mr. Benson, this is your family doctor calling, we have the report for your body check, there are some problems in your body check , can you as soon as possible to pick up the report?
